More Birdhouse Footy

August 30th, 2011 · No Comments · News, Skateboarding

If you arent sick of it by now. More footy coming in from the Birdhouse demo. Kind of crazy how a pro demo is getting this many videos on the site. Hint Hint Skateboard companies, how about you come by the SAV area more often. Atlanta isnt the only city in Georgia that has skateboarders…

Thanks to Jordan Lemmon and Art Ottimo

Jepson Center Skate Sesh???

August 3rd, 2011 · 18 Comments · News

So I got hit up by the Jepson Center the other day asking for Savannah Skates help, at first I was like what the fuck does Jepson Center want to do with Savannah Skates? But its kinda dope. This is what I was told in the email:

“The event will be our members opening for Anthony Goicolea, an artist whose work we will have on display in the Jepson Center. One of his significant pieces that we will have is a skate half pipe covered in snow and trees, so we immediately thought skate boarders would be awesome.  You can check out his work at www.anthonygoicolea.com, and we will have elements from all of his collections in the show. Its definitely different, but the ramp is going to be a large piece in the gallery and we want to subconsciously prep the guests ahead of time!
The opening night and reception is Thursday, September 1 from like 530 – 9pm at the Jepson Center, on York Street, we are trying to close off the street there so you guys will ideally have the whole front end of the building, leaving room for people to enter of course. But we really just want some rad skaters doing what they do best in the street so if you guys have your own rails or ramps that would be best since we don’t want any damage to our building, as you can imagine and our marble steps are susceptible to chipping and cracking.”

So Yeah, if you guys are interested comment below.  They are trying to meet up with people in SAV so if your up for that, let me know and I’ll get you in contact with the Jepson Center.  Btw the image above is one of the installations that will be at the show (snow miniramp)
